Reiki Energy Healing FAQ

What is "Reiki"?

What does the experience feel like?

What does the experience feel like?

Reiki is a Japanese modality of energy healing for stress reduction and relaxation. Beth often describes it like a "massage for your energy"

πŸŒˆπŸ’—

It is a hands-on healing artform based on the principle that the frequency of life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive and well.

 πŸŒˆπŸ’—

If one's ki (also called chi, prana, mana, light, etc.) is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

πŸŒˆπŸ’—

Reiki is a powerful treatment for healing anxiety, depression, working through trauma, or grief. it can also offer you a boost of energy and support your sense of peace, balance, and JOY!

There is no wrong way to experience the feeling of Reiki, as a recipient or as a practitioner.

 πŸŒˆπŸ’—

You may feel a slight tingling in the hands or feet. You may feel a sort of electrical impulse, sensations of movement within your hands or body, Warm or cold feelings, buzzing, pins and needles, or a very smooth gentle flow like water. Sometimes vivid memories or sudden inspiration may come to mind. β €

There is no one thing you must experience, and you will discover that each healing session is different.β €

When receiving Reiki sometimes you feel so securely anchored that when you wake out of the session your body feels physically heavy… And other times you may feel so light, like you were floating on a cloud or water. Sometimes you may go so deep into a session that you start to disassociate with your body completely and when the session concludes you return to your body slowly and need to stretch just to settle back into the moment at hand.β €

How often should I attend sessions?

What does the experience feel like?

Do I have to do/bring anything to prepare for a session?

It is recommended that when you find a practitioner with whom you connect well, that you attend Reiki with them (in person or at a distance) weekly or at least every other week for the best results.

πŸŒˆπŸ’—

That being said I have clients who visit me once a week, once every other, or once a month - and I am always grateful to work with them.

 πŸŒˆπŸ’—

By having a regular practice, the results often feel more noticeable and consistent, so if, for example, you are hoping to heal an injury/trauma, or boost your energy over the long term you would likely see the best results with a weekly session regimen.

Do I have to do/bring anything to prepare for a session?

Great news! You are already prepared for your first Reiki session - just as you are!

πŸŒˆπŸ’—

You might be inclined to meditate before a session or come with a personal mantra or intention for healing- but this is not required. If you are holding heavy thoughts or feelings, Reiki can help you find clarity and peace around them

πŸŒˆπŸ’—

Some of my guests like to bring their journals to do some reflection after their sessions, or sometimes have a special crystal or totem of their personal practice and you are more than welcome to bring yours!

πŸŒˆπŸ’—

Sessions are performed fully clothed, and when we work together in person I will have you lay down on my massage table, with cozy blankets and pillows.

πŸŒˆπŸ’—

If you are receiving a distance reiki session I suggest finding a quiet and peaceful setting, either laying on your bed or a couch works fine. Playing soft music and lighting candles are nice touches- but no matter what, the Reiki is going to reach you wherever you need it most!

It is very common for me to feel the magnetism and tingling feeling in my hands , or perhaps I will notice where the flow of your energy is different than other parts of your body.

πŸŒˆπŸ’—

I am personally a very clairvoyant

practitioner. Images, symbols, memories (sometimes future-memories) and visions of color and light all stream through me when I am practicing- I am able to see through my minds eye and I follow those intuitive messages throughout the session!πŸŒˆπŸ’—
